your newborn session
Every session is unique, just like your family! My goal is to create images that you will treasure forever. I also want every session to have something tangible from our time together, whether that be prints or an album of your favorite images.
LOCATION: Newborn sessions are done in the comfort of your own home. I often use the couch, master bedroom, and nursery for photos depending on the available light.
TIMING: I photograph newborns as young as three days old up to 6 weeks. Actual sessions take place late morning, usually beginning 10am-12pm. They last 1-3 hours depending on baby's needs and siblings in the family. Most sessions occur on weekends, but I am available some weekdays as well.
The SESSION: When I arrive, I will walk around your home and scout out the best lit areas for family and sibling shots. I often use the couch, master bedroom, and nursery for photos. Trust me, I know what it’s like to have a newborn. Please don’t feel like you have to clean the house before I arrive. We can easily clean up an area that we want to use for photos while I’m there.
Wardrobe: What is most important is that you and your family are comfortable! I recommend two base colors; coordinating but not all matching. If you know you are going to want prints in a particular room of your home, consider the color palette when planning outfits. Pinterest is always a great place to start, but I am happy to discuss wardrobe with you further if you would like. I prefer baby in a simple outfit like a white onesie so the focus is one baby and not what baby is wearing. We will also use a simple swaddle.
after the session: Within three weeks of your session date, I will send you a link to your online gallery. Your session fee includes full resolution digital images in color and black and white. All digital downloads are yours to share, print and keep forever. Your session can include a keepsake heirloom album. I will design your album with highlights from your session.
